About
We think you'll love the flexibility of the River Centre – our modular ground floor spaces can be combined together or divided up to create just the right layout and experience you want. We’re especially proud of our Breakout Spaces, which can hold up to 100 people and be arranged in a variety of ways for those unstructured meetings and collaborative sessions. And of course, all our spaces come with hi-speed Wi-Fi internet.
In addition, the venue comes with a stunning entrance Foyer. It features a floor to ceiling glass-fronted entrance with a magnificent circling grand staircase, providing an abundance of natural daylight for daytime events, and providing an atmospheric environment in the evenings.
Access to the venue is easy by car or public transport. We are just 45 minutes from London by train (our local Tonbridge train station is only a 10-minute walk from the venue), and there are several car parks nearby.

The Main Auditorium
The Main Auditorium is the largest of our eight hire spaces at the River Centre. At 504sqm, it can hold up to 500 people (theatre style) and can be flexibly configured for a variety of layouts (cabaret, classroom, boardroom, and theatre).
With brilliant lighting and fantastic audio acoustics, the Main Auditorium is ideally placed to ensure you get the most out of running a larger meeting or conference.
Our Media Centre, also situated on the first floor, is always on-hand to provide all the essential business and technical services you might need, including AV technical assistance, audio recording, and printing.

Meeting Room 1
The Exhibition Hall is the second largest of our eight hire spaces at the River Centre. It incorporates the Grand Meeting Room and Breakout spaces. At 408sqm, it can hold up to 350 people seated and can be flexibly configured for a variety of layouts (cabaret, classroom, boardroom, and theatre).
Located on the ground floor, the Grand Meeting Room can be easily accessed from the front entrance. Being on the ground floor, the room also has quick access to the foyer (for welcoming new arrivals) and the kitchen area. Male, female, and disabled toilets are also adjacent to the room.
The Grand Meeting Room is ideally suited to half-day or full-day meetings, conferences, presentations, or training events. As a flexible space, it can also be configured to suit specific needs, including partitioning it into two larger Meeting Rooms and/or adding the Breakout Space. If you’re looking for something a little smaller, these Meeting Rooms and the Breakout Space can also be hired individually or in different combinations.

Meeting Room 2
The Grand Meeting Room is the third largest of our eight hire spaces at the River Centre. At 264sqm, it can hold up to 200 people and can be flexibly configured, by folding partiticains for a variety of layouts (cabaret, classroom, boardroom, and theatre).
Located on the ground floor, the Grand Meeting Room can be easily accessed from the front entrance. Being on the ground floor, the room also has quick access to the foyer (for welcoming new arrivals) and the kitchen area. Male, female, and disabled toilets are also adjacent to the room.
The Grand Meeting Room is ideally suited to half-day or full-day meetings, conferences, presentations, or training events. As a flexible space, it can also be configured to suit specific needs, including partitioning it into two larger Meeting Rooms and/or adding the Breakout Space. If you’re looking for something a little smaller, these Meeting Rooms and the Breakout Space can also be hired individually or in different combinations.

The Breakout Spaces
The Breakout Spaces are an open circulation space that connects the ground floor spaces and can be used fro small groups or circulation. It is one of eight spaces available to hire at the River Centre. At 162sqm in total, these spaces can accommodate up to 100 people and can be configured in a variety of layouts.
Located on the ground floor, the Breakout Spaces can be easily accessed from the front entrance or via the car park. Being on the ground floor, the space also has quick access to the foyer (for welcoming new arrivals) and the kitchen area. Male, female, and disabled toilets are adjacent.
With a spacious yet intimate feel, our Breakout Spaces are a great option for enabling those more unstructured meetings and supporting people to collaborate in an agile way. The space is typically hired in combination with one of our other meeting rooms in true ‘breakout’ style – but it can also be hired as a standalone space.

Do I need to rent the entire venue if I only require a certain area?
No. The River Centres creative space allows you to host everything from exhibitions, quarterly company announcements and company parties to intimate board meetings but to name a few. Get in contact with our teams and we can start creating something bespoke for your needs together.
Can I rent the space for less than an entire day?
Yes, reach out to a member of our team to discuss your event in more detail.
Is there any on-site accommodation?
No, we do however partner with a couple of local hotels. Please do get in contact with our team to learn more.
Do I need to use your catering firm or can I hire my own?
